Out October 25th, the record has been fully remastered and returns pressed on purple vinyl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Set and Setting\u2019 will be accompanied by a new double LP compilation, Melt Away, cataloging late-\u201990s rarities and outtakes from a creative apex in the band\u2019s career, and released together on vinyl for the first time. Of these, album highlight \u2018The Trail\u2019, originally recorded for the 1997 compilation What\u2019s Up Matador, dissolves six minutes into a moment. Blink once and you\u2019ll miss it. Blink twice and the wallpaper might begin to move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">The songs on Bardo Pond\u2019s first two Matador releases \u2013 \u2018Amanita\u2019 and \u2018Lapsed\u2019 \u2013 were largely worked up at home and then recorded on the clock at a professional studio. On \u2018Set and Setting,\u2019 the band chose to work out of its home base, Lemur House, and the end result benefited from the open-ended DIY flexibility. \u201cIt was closer to the heart of what we do,\u201d says guitarist Michael Gibbons. \u201cThere was more improvisation, but also more culling of material. We had more time to find things that jumped out at us, go places we wouldn\u2019t normally go, do investigative work. I think there was a shift.
